VIEWPOINT 2022: Ed Zamborsky, Regional Sales Manager, Thermaltronics USA, Inc.
2021 was certainly a tumultuous year, which required some real "C" changes to survive. While we did see a downturn in sales of hand soldering products, simply because many factories were either short of workers -- or simply in lockdown, our technology driven, solder robot business expanded much faster than anticipated. Many electronic companies recognised, that in order manage the dire shortage of staff, automation in some form, was necessary to continue production. This fact has been one of the drivers behind the increase in our solder robot business, but it was the underlying strength of our technology-based systems, which incorporate dynamic laser height control, fiducial marks, vision and mapping and unique Curie Point temperature control, that provides the ACCURACY, REPEATABILITY & TRACEABILITY, and met the demands of our customers. The software and management of our system, has also allowed our robot specialists to undertake remote installations negating some of the impact of employees working from home. Looking to 2022, we look forward to reengaging with our customers face to face to help them investigate and incorporate the new tools and systems they will need to meet the huge demand brought on by consumer purchases.
